The highly anticipated 2010 Chevy Camaro is now only a few months from hitting the showroom floor, and we’re just getting the final scoop on standard and optional content that will be available for all five Camaro variants. Customers wanting to order a Camaro can choose from LS, 1LT, 2LT, 1SS and 2SS models, and standard and optional equipment varies greatly between each package. The base model LS comes equipped with OnStar, 18-inch rims, and a 300-hp V6 engine, and the only optional item is floor mats. The 1LT package includes optional 19-inch rims, a Boston Acoustics sound system and a sunroof. The 2LT gets standard 19s, the sound system, leather seats, ambient lighting and Bluetooth and USB connections.

If you want your Camaro to include a 422-hp V8, you’ll need to step up to the SS. The 1SS package includes standard 20-inch rims, four-piston Brembo brakes, a limited-slip differential and engine and transmission cooler. Options include polished aluminum wheels, a sunroof, and the upgraded sound system. The 2SS model adds all the standard features of the 1SS package and the 2LT package plus options including dual rally strips, a sunroof, and the Inferno Orange Accent interior. All trims except for the LS model have the option of adding the RS package, which gets you 20-inch rims, HID lamps, a spoiler (for the LT model), a Midnight Silver paint finish, darkened tail lights, and body colored molding.

Camaro sales may still be a few months away, but you’ll be able to order yours at a local dealer beginning October 13. The complete list of standard and optional equipment is available for your perusal after the jump.

Here we go again. Late last month we brought you a bevy of beautiful 2010 Chevy Camaro SS shots, and today General Motors has released a big batch of its own. These new images include studio shots of the 422-hp Camaro SS from various angles, as well as a few detail shots of the front and rear ends. Eh, it was about time for a new desktop wallpaper anyway.

At the very least we’re about one year away from seeing the production version of the Dodge Challenger, probably longer for the Chevy Camaro. We can’t wait that long, and we’re guessing neither can you. Hot Wheels has come to the rescue with two pairs of limited edition miniature motors.

Beginning Tuesday morning at 9 AM PST, Hot Wheel Collector’s Club members (membership is free) can buy the Real Riders Chevy Camaro and the Real Riders Dodge Challenger sets. The Camaro set has the iconic 1967 and 2006 concept versions of Chevy’s pony car, and for the MOPAR fans, the Challenger set comes with a 1970 and 2006 concept versions. All four cars are much more detailed than any Hot Wheel car you’ll find in stores, and feature rubber tires on special chrome wheels and a metal base. Each pack is limited to only 12,000 copies and at $9.99 each, are likely to sell out very quickly.

Check the jump for photos of the Challenger cars then go to the HWC website for even more photos of both.

General Motors has released another shot of the production Camaro making the rounds on its test track and this time we get a nice view of the front three-quarters. According to the FastLane Blog, the Camaro “is quickly evolving into final form,” however, things like the headlight design will likely change before all is said and done. The itty-bitty pic doesn’t divulge much, but it does prove that GM is sticking as close to the concept as possible. And just to let you know, we’re already looking for a larger version of the pic.

UPDATE:
High-res version of the pic added.
UPDATE 2: You knew they were coming. CamaroZ28.com forum member Rampant has provided us with images of the new Camaro shot in a rainbow of colors.

Regardless of the fact that over a dozen official looking images of the 2010 Chevy Camaro SS showed up on the web early last week, this single high-res image of the modern muscle car is notable for the fact that it is the first overall shot that GM has officially released. It showed up on the automaker’s media site yesterday evening all by its lonesome with no accompanying details, but what else is there to know besides the fact it’s packing a 6.2L LS3 V8 producing 422 hp and 408 lb-ft of torque? And for those who were wondering before, the nostril vent does appear to be part of the production package. Perhaps this picture’s sudden appearance portends more information to come. We’ll keep our ears and eyes open just in case.
