We didn’t make it to this year’s Techno Classica Essen, but fortunately for us, Derek Scott did. Derek is a member of the Volvo P1800 group on Yahoo, so we can just imagine his reaction when he saw this Volvo diorama created for Revell. He snapped a few pictures, which he kindly sent our way.
The diorama was created by master modeler Dirk Patschkowski for Revell, using one of its 122S models and two P1800S models, all in 1/18 scale. This is an incredibly detailed diorama — it’s like a half-dozen scenes in one.
If you’ve never seen Dirk Patschkowski’s work before, you’re in for a treat. His barn-find Mercedes-Benz 500K is just incredible. Sorry I can’t take you directly there, but if you click on “modelgallery” and then on “Mercedes bigscale 1:18,” you’ll have it.
