David Cammack owns what is undoubtedly the single best collection of Tuckers and Tucker memorabilia in existence, and he’s happy to show visitors around, if they call first. Last fall, he graciously gave us a tour of his collection, for an article that will appear in the June issue of Hemmings Classic Car. While I was in the process of photographing one of his three Tuckers, car number 1026, he mentioned that the door handles of the car had always puzzled him.
Every Tucker produced was a prototype, and there were many differences among the 51 made. These door handles are unlike those on his other two cars, and David does not know their origin. Here’s a closeup:
