Dana Parsons wrote in Saturday’s edition of the L.A. Times, regarding the conviction of motorcross founder Michael Goodwin in the shooting deaths of Mickey and Trudy Thompson:

“I don’t hate Collene (Campbell, Mickey’s sister), I pray for her every day. Nobody can believe that, but I do. I probably should hate her, but I don’t. I’m certainly unhappy she ruined my life, so to speak.” The irony, he says, is that, “it wasn’t Mickey who ruined my life … it was Collene.”

But two paragraphs later, he relates the chief investigator’s assertion that Goodwin “is a master manipulator who thinks he can con everyone.”

Parsons also includes comments from the jury’s foreman, who doesn’t doubt at all that the jury convicted the right man in the murders, despite the several points that Parsons brings up that he says observers in the case thought would lead to a different outcome.
